That's quite a shock, Stu, even after seeing Bill Lowenberg's decline over the
past couple years. I still think of him as the "owner" of the Cotswold Cup and
recall his somewhat embarrassing speech when he referred to the MOPs group as
his
family. But, being single, I think I know what he meant...
And, I remember the loving description of Bill from Anna Onnafer, a busty
favorite of mine in Charleston who knew him from the summer art camps in Vermont
(?) where she'd been one of his preferred students... And, to Bill, Morgans
were
of the greatest importance, even warranting a week's dedicated preparation, I
remember, for a DC concours attempt!
The Morgan world has lost one more of the true characters that have made the
marque so memorable to me over the years... John Erickson, Eddie Hausman, Bob
Harper, and now Bill Lowenberg...
