I have a brochure put out by Morgan in apparently 1963, "Racebred since
1910"

It always amazes me when you read something again, what jumps out at you.
This had to have been put out after Lemans in 1962 as it speaks about the
win and the car being driven home after. and before the fall of 1963 as
the two dealers printed on the back are Lew Spencer imports and Fergus
Motors Inc., Fergus became Fergus Fine cars in the late fall of 63.

it can be narrowed a bit further as it mentions for the Super Sports the
following under the section "Super Sports Specification"

" Coming with the 2.2 Ltr. engine as regular equipment (special 1996 c.c.
F.I.A. specs to order) the Super Sports comes in a slightly lower and
lighter (alloy body and fenders) version on the PL-4 chassis. The engine
is fully balanced and tuned. A special competition camshaft is fitted
along with fully polished and gas flowed head, two duel Weber
carburetors, special intake and 4-branched exhaust manifolds with fully
balanced intake and exhaust system, raised compression, oil cooler and
radiator shielding. (see competition options on last page for other
extras). B.H.P. from 124 to 158. "

On the last page is

Somewhere about my home, I have a copy of the SCCA production car
Specifications for 1963, and it includes the morgan part numbers for most
of these racing options, ie the larger gas tank is mentioned, the
limited slip rear end and many of the racing options as well.

Tie this all in with the aforementioned article on Lawrencetune, and it
makes sense options were fitted by the factory to the owners wishes.
But I can help but note the BHP mentioned 124-158, wasnt the higher
number the special lawrence head option? this is a range, not two stages
mentioned as well, so it fits the articles references then.

The other oddity is that pos. radiator shielding, I still to this day
cant find out what it is, it mentioned in the PCS and twice in this
brochure, then again in a price list, it even had a Morgan parts number.
I cant for the life of me figure out what this really is, I am sure its a
bit of sheet metal, but have never seen one!

Anyway, just a bit more interesting information on all the bits you could
put on these cars.
