OK, more questions.  Now that I have my resistor (zowee, that thing looks like 
it's made to get hot), where the heck am I supposed to mount it?  It has a 
central mounting hole and a big sheet metal screw.  Will this thing glow red 
and bubble my new paint?  Where do the rest of you folks mount the resistor?  
Also, does the starter by-pass wire ALSO go through the resistor, or does it go 
directly to the coil?  Thanks everyone for the assistance!  I appreciate it.

The resistor goes between the regular feeder from ign switch. Standard Ignition 
RU-4 works. It's for a Mopar. Others may work also. BTW as you may already 
know, the 12 volt starter should only be used with a 12 volt flywheel as it 
will tear up the 6 volt flywheel.
