Hey gang,
I've been lurking for a while, asking the occasional question on my '56 3600
Chevy. I'm looking at buying a '56 GMC 1/2 ton longbed. It has the big
back window and is an original v8 truck. The engine is a 316 (also used in
Pontiacs I believe)
Has anyone had experience with this engine? It's connected to the factory
4-spd w/Granny 1st.
Also, what were the rear-end ratio offered by GMC in '56? The owner thinks
the gears are original and 3.07.
Also, the VIN is 1028CX2974.....can anyone decipher?
