Has anyone on the list installed a Ford 9" rear end in their oletruck
(my truck is a 53 3100)? I just picked one up for an outrageous price
(i.e. free) and noted that it is about 4" narrower than the stock rear
that I removed. I was interested in your feelings about wheel
clearances. It seems I may have to narrow the bed or cut it for wheel
tubs. It's a good bet that I might not be using the original bed, as
there is a lot of rot in the panels. An aftermarket bed might be in the
works, but I'm going to have to come up with a width that is different
than the original. Plan is to use 8" and possibly 10" wheels. I was
going to add a 10 bolt GM rear from a Firebird which had approximately
the same width, but the 9" deal was too good to pass up. I'd appreciate
feedback from anyone who's done a similar swap.

TIA
