Also look at the local truck stop for a bulletin board.

I shipped an exhaust system for a 911 from Portland to Chicago a couple
years ago for $40.  I had to get my own pallet and attach it, but the truck
came by the house and I just tossed the pallet on the trailer.

I had put a note on the bulletin board (cork and pin affair not dialin)
asking for a trucker going back east, and a fellow that was was hauling for
Yellow gave me a call, he was going back empty.
