I have looked through the reprint shop manual for my '57 GMC and cannot
find any indication of correct oil pressure values. Mine is a V8 (detuned
Pontiac 347") and assuming the gauge is correct has the following values:
        PSI condition
        28 cold idle
        32 cold 2000 RPM
        20 warm idle
        28 warm 2000 RPM
14 really HOT (it is 99 outside right now) idle stuck in
traffic

The engine has about 65K miles since last rebuild.

Anyone know if these readings are within limits?

Also, does anyone know if there was such a thing as an owner's manual
for my truck? If so, any idea where one might find one? I do not need
to have the original manual. I'd just like to have the information in it,
so a
reprint (or even a Xerox copy) would do.
