In my opinion, Ebay's personal shopper service is really lacking. I started
using it as soon as it came out, but I soon discovered that all the results I
was getting were about a day late and it misses probably 40% of the new stuff
that would come up if you went to thier site and did the search. The only
things I use it for anymore are items that hardly ever show up on ebay that
would waste time to search for manually.
I think that anyone who owns an old truck that needs parts that isn't getting
into ebay is missing alot. The thing that I've noticed is that there is an
unheard of amount of the rarer truck parts being sold on ebay. There's quite
a few parts for the 1.5 ton+ A.D. and T.F. trucks on ebay for pretty cheap.
If you need something ebay's got it or will have it at some point in time.
I've also read posts suggesting that there should be a new "For Sale" section
for members of this mailing list to buy, sell, and most importantly, trade
parts for these old trucks. I understand it would involve a great deal of
effort to organize and maintain such a thing, but I think it would be an
excellant tool for all of us if it could be done. Just my $.02 worth.
