[oletrucks] Big Block Chevy

This is a question to all you big block chevy fans. I know the big block
engines are wider than the small block, but are they also longer? If so,
is the additional length from the motor mounts forward or from the motor
mounts back. I have talked myself into putting a big block in my 55. I
just need to work out the particluars. Any advise would be appreciated.
