I have replaced the stock casting and cartridge
filter on my 347" 57 GMC daily driver with a
spin-on casting from a 77 Pontiac 350, but I
kept the original hardware. I dug it out of
the garage attic last night. My canister
appears to be black and if there were any
decals on it originally there are no traces of
them now.

Well Ole Truckers I am disappointed in the lack of responses to my question
regarding the color and decals if any on the oil filter for my '58 GMC 1/2
ton with 336 V8. Surely there are others on the list that have this same
engine in their trucks. Trying to stay faithful to the original.

Thanks for the help,
