All GMC's since the late 30's are full pressure engines with precision insert 
bearings on mains and rods. GMC and Chevy shared bellhousings and transmissions 
in the 1/2 tons at least, so most any GM trans (other than torque tube) will 
work.

Is the 1951 GMC 228 cubic inch engine a full pressure oiler? Also  what 
transmissions can be used with this engine (three speed) along with an open 
drive later model ( 1965 chevy 1/2 ton) differential?
