I don't know anything about the quality of the stainless bumpers, but I am a
machinist with a lot of experience working with stainless.  If the bumpers
are made of 303 or 304 which are the most common types available in sheet
form for stamping, they will polish up to a shine that will match chrome.
As an added benefit, if you scratch a stainless part, you can just polish it
again.
