Last tag was ten years ago, so I can only believe that the oil in my 
52 GMC 350, with the 248 is at least 10 years old. . .


Anyway, once i pulled the filter out, there was an inch of 'grease' in
the bottom on the case.  Grey, solids. . .  nice.  Then i examined the
plug, there was also the same grey greese on it.


I'm sure this is from sitting for 10 years.  Anyone have any advice? 
This engine is in great shape in my opinion.  It's original, no smoke,
no leaks, 19 in of vac.  Will these deposits work themselves out? Do i
really need to pull the pan?
