Can any oletruckers out there please help me - my truck, a '52 GMC 1/2
ton Canadian 9300, runs a 350 power glide drive shaft to a 12 bolt truck
rear (around 65). I am redoing Spring pads (fabricating/welding) to
re-align stock 9 leaf springs as they were bending rear shackles
inwards. Refer to 47-54 Truck factory assembly manual, Section 4, Sheet
1.00.
Shack appears to mount to "plate assembly" with U-bolts through it.
My truck has a thick 90 degree bent plate with 90 degree tapered bend on
one side. I figure it goes between shock mount plate and channel - was
my set up correct for year, maybe plate assembly in assembly manual was
for open rear? I hope to use pieces I have, to remount rear over
weekend.
Thanks
