Hi...

The 3 speeds in many 1964 Chevy cars and trucks were the old Muncie
non-synchro 1st type.  This tranny has 4 bolts on the side cover.

If it's a Saginaw, it will have 7 bolts on the side cover and there will
be one bolt centered on the top of the side cover...if it's a Warner, it
should have 9 bolts and a round bottom on the side cover...if it's the
fully synchro'd Muncie 3 speed it will have 7 bolts on the side cover,
but the top will not have one centered like the Saginaw.  

I'm not sure what years all these different trannys were available, but
I'd guess you will probably find it's not a Warner (since it says GM on
it).
