The tie rods were primed black where they were made with a very thin coat.  
It would probably scrape off threads  
that ran thru nut.  I like to paint everything under the truck because I'm in 
a damp area.  Anti sieze compound under threads will ensure easy adjustment 
when the time comes.  Actually, I like to use anti sieze under all my 
threads.
