This sounds like fun! Of course, you'll want to build a clutch hydro,
like they did in the 60s...torque converters were not very good back
then (they hadn't figured out how to make them high stall), so most guys
used clutches. They would use a normal clutch (with an addon to run the
front pump), and attatch the automatic behind the bellhousing
(scattershield).
Seriously, if you do find an old racing hydro, sell it to a nostalgia
racer, and buy/build yourself a good modern automatic! This is one area
where we've made a lot of progress. Or, perhaps stick with a manual
tranny.
