Hey, all, the way Chevy put the door and vent glass in was with "glass
setting tape", NOT adhesive!

This tape is actually not sticky at all. It fills the space between the
glass and the metal channel. You can get it from most old truck parts
companies, or from old-time glass shops. It comes in different
thicknesses. It is not too difficult to install, but you do have to be
careful, and it helps to order extra in case you goof up.

According to the shop manual, you liberally apply oil to the tape, then
place it between the channel and the glass, and push the glass into
place. A plastic mallet is usually needed to get it to seat fully.
Once it's seated, you trim the excess tape from each side, and
thoroughly clean the glass and frame.

Think about it...if you use adhesive, how will you ever get the thing
apart later when the glass gets cracked?
