Hi,
I just ordered some tailgate chains for my '53. We4ll, when I installed
them last night, I found that they are at least 1 link, maybe 2 links two
short! I guess I don't really care, but the reason I ordered the chains
was 1) so I could get that wierd square bolt, 2) I wanted to order covers
anyways, 3) for $10 more then building them myself, I would get a correct
look, 4) I wouldn't have to measure and cut any chain (I'm lazy). Anyway,
when the tailgate is extended, it does not sit horizontal to the bed wood
surface, rather, it sits at a slight angle! Maybe this is correct, and I
don't know what I am talking about, but I know my '60 chevy's tailgate
used to sit horizontal to the bed.
