Smokey,
First thing I'd do is pull the fan belt and see if the noise is still
there. Noises have a way of traveling and sounding like they are coming
from somewhere they are not.
My main worry would be a cracked fan blade. They are very dangerous and
not always redily visible. Obviously if the noise goes away look for a
belt driven item.
