 I'm debating on a 700r4 or a th400, I've got both, but may want the 700r4
 for other projects. Any opinions?

You'll probably end up with a minimum of 1500.00 into the 700r4 to handle
the BBC tq., plus another 200+ for a good convertor...

My choice would be a TH400 (that even in "stock rebuild form" that would be
stronger than the built 700r4, and add a OD unit. Agin, as I mentioned about
the rears..initial cost is more, but longevity of the TH400 or the 700r4
behind a BBC, may be the same cost after the next 700r4 rebuild.
