Hi fellow oletruckers! Wednesday I backed the 52 GMC out into the
sunshine.
My fears about my resprayed box and fenders looking a different red
were unfounded.
Perfect match to the cab and front end. Local FLAPS paint mixer did a
perfect job. GM
torch red. Spent the winter pouring through catalogs and assembly
manual. Installed a heater shut off valve (NOS from Chevs of the 40s).
Now my non-deluxe heater won't blow hot air on my delightful wife and
son. GMC Shop manual shows the lower radiator petcock with a rubber
line to direct the antifreeze away from the cross member to avoid a
mess. Found one of those and installed. The factory had some good
ideas and we are wise to use them.

Can anyone advise me of a source for the correct wire clips gmc used
under the hood for wires on the firewall and above the radiator. These
clips show in the GMC shop
manual on the first page of the cooling section. Evidently only GMC
used these and as
it is for a GMC - oh god how many times is he going to say that word,
AAAAGGGGHHH. No supplier seems to be carry these GMC clips, mostly
for Chev.

This message was partially written by Alan Quins long suffering wife. I
have added
my own touches, so this note isn't so insufferably boring!!! Tah Dah....
