Hi Bill : I really enjoyed your 1955 2nd Series Photos. I to have a 55
2nd series Big window and have just started the disassembly process. I
need a little guidance on were to start . I want to build a Sunday
Driver and I I'm not interested in doing the show circuit.
But I would like to do a frame up restoration and build a good (slightly
modified) truck. Can you recommend any good books on how to begin et.

My next question involves the body work . I noticed in the photos your
truck looked like it was in a professional body shop. My Truck has rust
in all the usual places . I need new steps , rear corner caps ,fender
caps et. et. .. I have 30 + years experience as a mechanic but not much
body work experience . I plan on having the Truck painted professionally
. But I was wondering if i could teach myself to a least weld in the
panels et.. Is this something a do it your selfer could do on his own
with a little practice or Should I leave it to the Pro's ?

I 'am sure I will have many more questions going forward. I just need to
know how to get started the right way. Any help you can give would be
greatly appreciated

Thanks George
