The 55-59 "normal" Chevy rearend did NOT come with a posi. The optional
posi rearend that was introduced in 59 was actually a GMC type rearend,
a Dana 45. This posi carrier will not fit the Chevy rearend, of
course. I have one of these rearends, and I don't want to get rid of
it...sorry!
So, if you want a posi six lug for a TF truck, best bet is a 60s vintage
12 bolt truck rear, as the posi carrier from 64-81 or so trucks will
fit, and the 60s rear is the same width as the 50s rear.
