I have gone several times over the years to the Truck Carlisle and also try to
go to the vette Carlisle in August when I can (seems there's frequently a work
or school conflict). I've always gone Saturdays and it has always been very
busy with lots of activity and lots of vendors. I think Friday is pretty good
as well and my brother claims it's the best day to buy parts, but I know Sunday
to be a dud as everyone is packing up to get out of there. I bought my 3 speed
OD transmission there a few years back. I've never been there late at nite and
so have never seen any wild stuff...always very civilized and very enjoyable.

It's about a 9 hour drive for me, but if I go by myself, I just nap early and
then leave about midnite, spend all day and then drive back that nite or get a
motel away from Carlisle on the way back. Motel rooms are generally hard to
get if you don't get them way in advance. If I take my wife, a motel room is a
necessity as she won't do the crazy schedule I keep.

I do plan to go this year work and school permitting but could use the sanity
break.
