My listings get flakey in the late 70s, which is probably when it's
from.

What's the block casting number?  that will narrow it to 350 or 305--if
it ends in 010 or 014 or 207, it would be a 350.  What's the other
number stamped on that pad?  there should be a  partial vin, such as
18K123456, the second digit would be the year of the car.
