Doug,
     There are many differences between the Cameo and the 55cd series.
For some images of 55 trucks go to

you'll see some cameos there as well as step sides, 1st series, and Panels.
The obvious differences are the Cameos have the large wrap around rear 
window and the fiberglass panels the made the bed a smooth fleetside 
appearance.
If you have the VIN # send it to the list and someone will decode it for 
you, if not get it off the door frame, a small stainless steel tag and the 
numbers are stamped in it. Don't think it'll have the model number thou....
