Just wondering, on my 51 3100, the air vent is right in front of the
windshield. Would I need to draw fresh air from there, or is there a better
way on this year/model?

If you can fabricate an intake adaptor for the Vintage Air unit to get air
from the original air intake, do so. Sucking fresh air into the cab is much
more comfortable than recirculating it. Pulling outside air means that you
can drive with the vent pane open without creating a vacuum inside the cab.
The heater/AC unit pressurizes the cab slightly which reduces cold drafts
that seep in various places, then it also pulls fresh air that is free of
carbon monoxide and blow-by fumes. I'm looking for a relatively easy way
to do this myself. I don't particularly like the recirculating system.
