I found what I think may be a good rearend candidate for my 38 1/2 it's out of
a 70GMC I think at least it was in the back of it and has a 6 bolt pattern. I
tried looking up 67-72 axle codes on American classics and the only 3.54 ratio
rear ends were in 3/4 tons ? I guess the short version is what do
I Have or almost have I haven't picked it up yet it has a tag on it #5352557
         46-13 3.54
I'm assuming a 3.54 ratio it is also 10 bolt and for my application is
probably stought enough (mild 235 buildup)
it's 51" backing plate to backing plate . approx 62" hub to hub
46" from the outside of spring perches
this way I don't have to change the front end to IFS and get the higher Ratio.
I also plan on using a s10 5 speed at some point to get OD so does this sound
like a good Way to go before I waste my $60 any Info would be appreciated .
As this was not installed in truck but laying in the back I'd like to do a
little more checking to see exactly what it is. any Ideas?

 Thanks Jay Baker
