Don, mabee I am a little nuts but I found a q-jet to be relatively easy to
rebuild, compared to a Honda three barrel for a '81 CVCC. The parts dip can
be obtained at NAPA for arround $65 for the large can, Checker has a smaller
can for less. You will have to go NAPA for the rebuild kit, they are arround
$25 to $35. Dissassembly ia relatively straightforeward you just have to be
careful with the screws that hold the butterflys to the shaft, they are
staked and can easyely be stripped. Just remember how it came apart and it
goes together the same way. The kit comes with full instructions and some
manuals have allyou need to make the adjustments after reassembly, although
if you are careful how you handle the parts very few adjustments will
change.
