[oletrucks] backfite (pop) thru carb on hard accelleration/too lean or too

Hi Group:
57 GMC 270 C.I. Engine.  New Carb, plugs, wires, points (28 degrees dwell), 
condenser, and distributor cap, timing set at 5 degrees before TDC as per 
specs.   Get a pop from "under the hood"  and hesitation during hard 
acceleration.  Must be in the idle mixture?  Any comments are appreciated.
