When I was looking for a S-10 frame I found it was much easier to look at
the small white factory options label in the glove box which shows the RPO
codes, VIN #, and also indicates the wheelbase of the truck. I have a 1950
and was looking for 116" WB.

The RPO codes also indicate the rear axle ratio. This makes it much easier
to determine what you are looking at. I'm thinking the GU4 = 3.08 ratio, GT4
= 3.73 ratio & GU4 = 3.42 ratio. I may be wrong, so check with someone who
has a RPO code book. A salvage yard has the RPO numbers if you can find one
who wants to help you.
