I took two leaves out of the eight leaf front springs on my 57 GMC and lowered
the front bumper 1.5". The ride is a little bouncier than original.

We're just about ready to put the new wheels and tires on Dusty's '50 GMC
longbed. He wants to drop the truck about 2 inches front and back. I know
there are those single leak springs that drop the front (how much?), but I
hear they tend to sag very soon.
Another truck list member suggested we actually remove a couple of leaves
from the front springs (the back is easy - just relocate the mounting bolts
in the shackles up one hole). But someone else said this makes for a poor
ride quality.
  Any other suggestions/input?

Thanks,
Dave Destler
