Dave,
Cars of the era had stripes.  Truck wheels were painted black with no pin
stripe.

Wheels are shown on page 92 of the factory spec. manual.

I am in the process of painting wheels and have seen wheels with a thin
stripe of a second color painted about half way out from the hub.  I am
trying to keep things authentic.  Was this common to pickups?  Appreciate
the
help.
