[oletrucks] Installing wiper knob

I asked this a while back but I don't think anyone replied.  I purchased a 
new wiper knob from Chevy Duty for my '53, but how do you put it on the part 
that has the threads and a little arm?  My new one just has a hole in the 
bottom like it is pressed on the shaft.  any info on how to remove the 
original would be helpful.
