Hey , i inslalled some door latches and striker plates on a 53 a few years
ago ,and was never realy happy with the function as when latched theyer was
always still some play in the door jam. recently i got some nos striker
plates and when i installed them this time i realised i didnt adjust them
properly the first time. when you shut the door and it hits the striker it
hits in two places (the safety latch and then the door latch. mine was
adjusted so it never made it to the secont latch point and was ratteling
between the two..and i had to pull the striker further out to make the door
go in further.i hope that makes sence.......what a difference now.....steve
