Bill, a  couple of years ago I had the engine in my IH Scout II rebuilt. The
only thing non-stock is a 4 barrel carb and chromed valve covers. I think it
cost abt $30 for the valve covers to be chromed locally. That and "old" IH
red paint (from a local Case/IH dealer) on the engine really looks great,
although I've thought, in view of what it cost to rebuild the engine, maybe
I should have had the valve covers GOLD plated. For something novel, you
might look into having the stock valve cover powder coated. By the way, my
stock ,but chrome plated valve covers (345 V-8) don't leak an ounce of oil.
