Do not use a dolly to pull that far, you'd be better off renting a trailer
especially since ya have to rent something anyway rent the trailer. Make
sure it has surge brakes that work, electric are better but you probably
aren't set up for that. Make sure the truck is on the trailer frontwards if
it has an engine. You want most of the weight forward but not to much on
the tongue. Chain her down on all 4 corners. In California the trailer
speedlimit is 55, watch the speedlimits where you are going. Check your
tiedowns occassionally. Tow in Drive not OD unless flat (read manual). My 2
cents, and I read a lot of others that were mostly the same. Just thought
I'd say something since I have a lot of experience towing. You'll probably
need a 2 5/16 ball for the hitch. And I just thought of something, I've
heard out here in Calif. that they won't rent ya a car trailer unless you
have a 3/4 ton truck or heavier. You may wnat to call the rental yard in the
area where you plan to rent it from and tell them what you have, and reserve
the trailer in advance.
