Hey guys--I'm needing some help on tires for my '49 1/2 ton Chevy p/u. When I
bought it recently it came with four nearly new Columbia Deluxe tube type
2-ply tires 6.00x16 (and no spare). Anybody ever here of this brand? I'm not
finding it on the vintage tire sites.
Was this the standard size when the truck was manufactured? Or should I be
considering 6.50 or ??
A second question concerns wide white walls. Was it possible to special order
www back in '49 for pickups? Since I want to restore my two trucks to near
original I don't want to dress either up with tires that are not true to what
might have been on it originally.
