I've been following the thread and am a little lost.
1) Have we obtained permission from John to use the previous design?
2) If yes - are we going to use it?
If the answer is no to 1 or 2, read along....
Someone posted a website where designs could be submitted to, and
subsequently voted on. I second this notion. Make a deadline for artwork.
Two pieces (front and back) need to be submitted. Then we collect votes on
new design.
This is where I come in. I would be happy to collect (via email) the votes
for favorite designs. I have a background in statistics and would be happy
to compile the results (and just for you naysayers out there I will keep all
records on file for your inspection). We would need to have a voting cutoff
date and also a minimum number of votes.
This is the way we used to do design changes to shirts in our club (60+
members) and always worked well - not everyone was pleased, but at least
they had a chance to vote.
