Chevy went 5-lug on pickups in '72. Disk brakes with 6-lugs were '71.

If memory serves the '61 was one of the torsion bar Chevy's, and they only
did that a few years. I don't know if the later IFS can be swapped into its
place or not.

I have a problem with my 61 Chevy pu. Yesterday as I was pulling into the
parking lot at the bank, the drivers side ball joint broke and the A frame
went to the pavement. I was able to have it towed to the shop. I am
wondering
if this would be a good time to change the front end. My question is what
years would bolt in with not much trouble. I would like to have power
steering
and disc brakes, but I would like to keep the 6 lug so that I dont have to
carry 2 spares. When did Chevy go to 5 lug? Any other suggestions would be
appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
