Well Group,

After years of procrastination I have finally committed to begin some
restoration of my 1952 Chev 1/2 ton. Since this is my first restoration, I
need lots of help.

Now that my truck is in my garage, I have started to take stock of its
condition. Besides rust in the usual spots, cab corners and cab floors, I
believe (with my untrained eye) that the cab, fenders, doors are in good
shape. The bed needs lots of work though.

In the beginning my plan has been to get the engine running and then begin
working on the body and interior. Unfortunately, I have noticed that the
frame underneath the bed has some damage. I know that rusted spots are not
good, but I am not able to judge the severity. So far, I haven't found
information about repairing frames with rust damage.

I would like some input as to what I need to consider and material that may
be available about repair/replacement, if these are options.
