Brian, if I understand here, the boards don't line up to the frame hangers?
The L-shaped heavy metal parts? You shouldn't try to move mounting on the
orig boards. There is a specific metal support built in to each end of them.
On bigger trucks, those frame mounts get damaged sometimes and bend boards
with them. They are hard to straighten and get right. If you have a pipe big
enough to fit all the way over the mount, slip it on allthe way back to
frame and pull needed direction to line up. You will have to pull "Past" the
position you want and it will spring back to wanted position when you let
off pressure. This is only good for minor adjustment, as you can pull too
hard and buckle the mount. These mounts are all different from front to rear
and side to side. If you need another, it needs to be from same place on
donor frame. This is because the frame changes it's width as you move back
and body tapers in some and boards have to match. These brackets are riveted
to frame, can be removed by grinding off heads and knocking out rivet. Can
just bolt the other one on again. I'm wondering WHY yours don't fit now. Has
the truck been wrecked at running boards? Is the frame bent or rusted enough
to have moved apart under truck? Kinda odd it's not right if the running
boards haven't been changed. If one has, it could be anything! Oh, Yeah,
sometimes the frame mountings get rusty trapping gunk behind them, maybe
that's happened and now it's really rusty and non-supportive.
