Ahh. When you say backing plate I see the thing that holds the brake shoes
and such. For disk brakes we're talking about dirt guards....

Maybe I should say with "Mods" I have seen backing plates from drum brakes
modified to work with disk setups. nothing a cutting torch can`t fix.
On a brighter note the gaurds are avaliable thru suppliers. At least for
some models.
