I also put a Mallory "Dual Point" electronic distributor in my 51 3100 (has a 
'58 235)and was very happy with its performance. However, be careful in 
installation and remember to install the proper resistor to the coil or you'll 
"fry" the electronics ( unfortunately, I'm an expert on this issue since it 
happened to me).
