that 81 axle is the same as a 75 IF its really an 81.
if its more like the 82-8? then its a weaker rear.
the 67-81 10bolt axles have a 8.5" ring gear(stronger) and the
mid-81-up have a 7.5 and 7.2" ring gear(weaker)
you know. ford 9"(9" ring gear...) 8.8... mopar... better... etc..
the 75 is a superior axle if the 81 is the 7.2/7.5
also the width on the 74-81e is just great for a AD or TF truck.
