Subject: [oletrucks] 59 Chevy Apache---Like New-- Turn Signal Assembly
Original--HELP

Hello friends, I sure would appreciate if someone could come up with
an origianl turn signal switch assembly for my beatiful 1959 Apache
3100. Seems the parts warehouses have switches and what nots, yet,
not the housing to contain the switch, cancelling mech, and whatever
else goes with it. I do have the aftermarket turn signal switch
which works just fine, yet second best is never good enough for me.
I would like the original made for my truck. The Accessory manual I
have appears to show that turn signals where an accessory--such as
optional item. Well I guess it never came with the original. These
books actually show little of the construction of the parts, aka--
switch, cancelling plate, housing, wedge, what not--- so I am at a
loss. Wedge???, I don't even know what that is ??? You can buy the
switch, turn signal handle, cancelling plate through various venders,
yet, mine I will also need the turn signal switch housing, I believe
it is to contain all the mechanical items, and switch, maybe more
that I am not aware of, to make the original turn signal set up
complete. I have all manuals for my truck, yet there is none if not
little noted about the signal, accept as an accessory item. So
therefor, if I were lucky to find this, hopefully it will have
everything, because there is no why--picture--parts list---that
describes if all is there. Electrically there will be no problem for
me, all I need is to be able to obtain the origianl mechanisms--
hopefully none will be lost that I do not know of, to make the
reassembly complete. I request anyones help---please help me if you
can. Thanks, Steve, Columbus---Ft.Benning, GA
