YES! :) I put a Rod Doors headliner in my truck and when I pulled the 
old headliner out it was held in with some sort of black adhesive. The 
stuff was still rubbery in some places and hard as a rock in others. I 
had to get the roof clean to make the new headliner stay in place. I 
ended up using a heat gun on a low setting to get the stuff rubbery 
again and then scraping..it was messy and tedious working over your 
head. I remember telling my buddy that maybe I ought to just run the 
darn thing down his hilly driveway and flip it over to make it easier to 
get at!
It will come off but will take some patience and time.
