Also wondering what highway speeds early 50's Chevys feel comfortable with?
Based on how fast people are passing me I think I'm doing about 25mph. <g>
But I've gone behind friends when moving something and found I can get to 60
mph or so. At about 50 a vibration starts up. I feel it primarily through
the gas pedal but a bit comes through the bench seat too.
The only thing I could think of is the prop shaft: possibly u-joint. I
don't want to take it off and into a drive shaft shop if it's not likely to
be the cause. Any thoughts on what else it might be? Only occurs at high
speed, and the truck as new steel belted tires and rims.
