Ken,
There's masonite and there's tempered-two-sides masonite. Use the latter. For
smooth curve cutting on 1/8" stock, use a saber saw with at least 14 teeth per
inch. Some models, like the Bosch, have a feature that allows you to set the
amount of blade advance (fore and aft motion) of the saw stroke. Set this to a
minimum. Sawzall has too much of this motion, so forget it. Boat guys will cut
large radius (R>24") curves with a Skilsaw, set high, so the blade barely goes
through the material. Another approach is rough it out with a Skilsaw, then sand
to the line with 60 grit on a beltsander.
